Need for Unijos School authority to call this lecturer to order.

When I got admission into Unijos as a student, I was meant to understand that lecturers are not allow to sale course materials to any students offering their course(s). The former VC and now Deputy Governor of Plateau State Prof Sonni Gwanle Tyoden made this very clear during the matriculation ceremony of new students in 2010. The immediate past VC Prof. Hayward Babale also reiterated on the fact that lecturers are not allow to sale materials to students during 2011 matriculation.

No lecturer sold any material to me or coerced me to photocopy any material from him in the whole of my 100 level. When I got to meet a lecturer from the Psychology Department of the University Mr E. N Mwantu in my 200 level, the game changed.
In his first class, he presented  70 pages material before us and instructed us to make photocopies of the material. He said getting the material is not compulsory but it is mandatory for all students to get the material. He instructed all class representative from different department picking the course as an elective to collect the sum of   #700 form every student offering the course. He said he was not selling the material but rather helping us photocopy the material. Mind you, this lecturer has a business center located at the Naraguta Hostel of the University. He was charging #10 per page amounting to over Two hundred and fifty thousand naira (#250,000),  meanwhile other business centers will be willing to photocopy for us at the rate of #4 per page since we are photocopying in bulk. In one of his classes, he threatened that failure to buy this material means failing the course. I think he made good his threat because some of my course mate who could not afford to buy the material from him failed the course.
The school authority should call this Mr Mwantu to order before this become a trend in the university. This is exploitation and I believe the University has worked hard to see that this trend does not rear its ugly head in the university.
