Another PDP Rep dumps party for APC

Another member of the House of Representatives from Edo State, Johnson Agbonayinma, has dumped the opposition People’s Democratic Party, PDP, for the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
In a letter read by Speaker Yakubu Dogara at plenary on Thursday, Mr. Agbonayinma who was loyal to the ousted chairman of the PDP, Ali Modu-Sheriff, alleged that he had been sidelined in the party.
He said after Mr. Sheriff lost at the Supreme Court, his colleagues in the house and his former party “shut the door against him”.

2019: God Has Not Revealed Anything About Atiku – Fr. Mbaka.

The Spiritual Director, Adoration Ministry, Enugu Nigeria, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka has disowned media reports, which quoted him as saying that former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is a most credible presidential candidate for the 2019 election.
Speaking on Saturday, the fiery priest said the originators of the report were out to cause mischief.

The True Story Of Alleged Gun Attack On Magu’s Residence

Nigeria’s on Wednesday woke up to the news of an alleged attack on the residence of the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Mustafa Magu, where a policeman was said to have been killed.
But while the report of the attack is true, the report that it took place at the house of the anti-graft boss is false. The attack allegedly took place at a farm house in Karshi, a newly acquired property outside the Federal Capital Territory, where Magu does not reside.

Atiku cannot win any election — even in his local govt, says Buhari’s aide

Lauretta Onochie, special assistant on new media to President Muhammadu Buhari, says former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar cannot win in his local government if he contests the 2019 presidential election.
Abubakar, who defected to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on Sunday, was quoted to have said he will definitely beat Buhari, should he decide to seek re-election in 2019.
But speaking on Politics Today, a programme on Channels TV, Onochie said, “Atiku has lost touch with reality”.

2018 budget: Osinbajo’s kitchen to spend N17m on cutleries

The vice presidential quarters of the presidential villa set aside N17 million for cutleries in the proposed 2018 budget.
Aside this amount, N50 million would be spent on acquisition of foodstuff and catering materials, with an additional N18.3 million for refreshments.
N2.3million would be spent on cooking gas and fuel cost.

APC Yet To Receive Atiku’s Resignation Letter

The All Progressives Congress has said that it is yet to receive a letter of resignation from the former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, made this known on Friday in Abuja. Atiku had in a statement on Friday announced his resignation from the APC, citing lack of good relationship with the party leadership, among other issues.
He explained that he joined the APC in 2014 after some of its leaders appealed to him, following the crisis in his former party, the Peoples Democratic Party which resulted in two different factions.

Obiano: Me, join APC? Never!Willie Obiano, Anambra state governor, says he has no plan to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
Obiano was re-elected in the poll after securing victory in all the 21 local government areas of the state.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo says he was diagnosed with diabetes over 30 years ago yet he is stronger than many young people.
Obasanjo said this on Friday after leading hundreds of people on a road walk for diabetes awareness in Abeokuta, Ogun state capital.
He said if well managed, diabetes cannot kill people.
Obasanjo recalled that his primary school headmaster was diagnosed with diabetes at the age of 50 but lived up to 85 years as a result of proper management of the ailment.
“Diabetes is not a disease that should kill, I was diagnosed to be diabetic more than 30 years ago but rather, I am growing strong,” he said.

BREAKING: Emmerson Mnangagwa to be sworn in as Zimbabwe President

Emmerson Mnangagwa, a former Zimbabwean vice president, who was sacked by Robert Mugabe, would be sworn in Wednesday, media reports say.
Local media and Zimbabwean sources said Mr. Mnangagwa would be sworn in Wednesday to replace Mr. Mugabe who resigned Tuesday afternoon after 37-years in office.

Plateau govt re-iterates on sustaining peace, security

PLATEAU State Governor Simon Lalong said his administration was determined to ensure sustenance of peace, security and protection of lives and properties to its citizens despite the security challenges confronting the state.
Governor Lalong stated this at the flag off of the distribution of relief materials worth over 20 million naira to victims of the violence attack in Miango Bassa, Local Government Area of the state.
The items distributed included thirty (30) difference food and non food items which consist building materials food staff and clothing among others.
Governor Lalong who was represented by the Director General Plateau, Peace Building Agency, Joseph Longman described the recent violence attack on innocent citizens in some parts of the state as major setback to the existing peace already achieved and a trying moment for the citizens of the state.
He condemned in strong term, the dastardly act perpetrated against the people in different communities in Bassa Local Government Area while soliciting the support and cooperation of citizen in the state to ensure enduring peace.
