The Kaduna state government has terminated the employment of more
than 4,000 local government workers, in its effort to trim its local
government work force.
The El-Rufai led government said the system is over bloated, with staff earning salaries they do nothing for.
Three thousand, one hundred and fifty nine of the staff have been
retired, while the appointments of eight hundred and eighty three have
been terminated.
While the former category would receive three months salary in lieu of
notice and pension entitlements, the latter would only receive one-month
salary in lieu of notice.
