GOVERNOR Simon Bako Lalong of Plateau State has described
Mrs. Pauline Tallen’s rejection
of the Non-career ambassador appointment as an exhibition of political maturity.
The governor said this Monday in Abuja while, fielding
questions from journalists.
According to him, Plateau was always on the front burner
when it comes to politics, adding that, it showed her maturity, not just in
Plateau but as a National figure.
“Once things
are not done properly, it is better for a leader and a mother to come out and
say that, things are not done properly in the interest of the state”.
“When I heard
the announcement, I was very shocked, because what happened was without proper
consultation”, he
remarked.
The governor said that, his Administration was working
towards addressing the issue of balancing appointments, pointing out that, he
had already discussed the issue with the p[resident in their last meeting.
Governor Lalong further said that, the opposition were
already saying that, the appointment were lopsided but stressed that his
administration was a government of change and they would not do that.
He used the occasion to
appreciate Mrs. Pauline Tallen for her decision and assured that people that,
their quota would be filled, as he would go further to ensure that, he secure
