PLHA commends STF, lambasts police

THE Plateau State House of Assembly has resolved to write a letter of commendation to the Commander of Operation Safe haven in the state for their recent success of arresting arms dealers in the state.
The House has also resolved to write a letter to the state police commissioner, asking him to check the activities of some of his men which is damaging the image of the organization.
The resolution followed a motion on adjournment by the Majority Leader, Hon. Henry Yunkwap representing Shendam constituency.
Presenting the motion before the House, Hon. Yunkwap said the succors recorded by operation Safe Haven would go a long way to consolidate the already existing peace in the state.
He said the recent development has proved that the operatives have the state at heart, but lamented the activities of some men in uniform who are in the habit of extorting monies from innocent villagers in the state.
Though the motion was to commend members of operation safe heaven members of the house voiced out some lapses in the security situation in some parts of the state which have become threats to the rural dwellers as they experienced constant and sporadic robbery attacks.
They called on the police to intensify efforts in securing the lives and property of rural dwellers.
