Plateau state Governor Lalong bans Shiites in Plateau State

The Plateau state government has placed a ban on the activities of shiite muslims (also known as Islamic movement of Nigeria) in the state.

The ban on shiites is coming after a clash between youths and some members of the sect in Angwan Rogo, Jos North.

The youth attacked the sect members while they were celebrating 'Ashura', a festival that commemorates the death of Prophet Muhammad's grandson. The husanniya (Worship building) of the sect was burnt down and destroyed by the youths.

Five key takeaways from Aisha Buhari's interview.

Our beloved President yesterday made things worse after he reacted to the interview granted by his wife who belongs to the "other room". Her interview generated so much controversy and questions among Nigerians especially members and supporters of the ruling All Progressives Congress. (APC).
When we take a close look at her translated BBC Hausa interview(READ INTERVIEW),  there are five things we should be able to understand about this administration of GMB.

  1. This defeats every excuse President Buhari gave in the delay in ministerial appointments: Contrary to what was sold to us in 2015 when the presidency delayed picking ministers for a record 6 months, the First Lady has strongly asserted that some political forces influenced the appointment of ministers. And we believe her. At the time, we were told that President Buhari was following the principle of “Separation of Powers” and was not accepting nominees by state governors because apparently, his administration was sworn to changing the face of governance in the country. The abysmal performance of some of these ministers and the ridiculous excuses they have given for their ineptitude cements Aisha Buhari’s claims.

Former spokesperson of the PDP Presidential campaign, Femi Fani-Kayode has also reacted to president Buhari's statement today, in response to his wife's BBC interview.

He tweeted that the demons are speaking through the president, he can kill his own children, and he needs a lot of prayer. Read after the cut...

"When our President can get up and tell the whole world all the way from distant Germany that his wife "belongs to the kitchen, the living room and the other room" simply because she dared to speak her mind to the BBC then you know that he is in the grip of something evil and that demons are speaking through him.

People tend to be alarmed when the Nigerian Presidency – Aso Rock – takes certain decisions. They don’t think the decision makes sense. Sometimes, they wonder if something has not gone wrong with the thinking process at that highest level of the country. I have heard people insist that there is some form of witchcraft at work in the country’s seat of government.

I am ordinarily not a superstitious person, but working in the Villa, I eventually became convinced that there must be something supernatural about power and closeness to it. I’ll start with a personal testimony. I was given an apartment to live in inside the Villa. It was furnished and equipped. But when my son, Michael arrived, one of my brothers came with a pastor who was supposed to stay in the apartment. But the man refused claiming that the Villa was full of evil spirits and that there would soon be a fire accident in the apartment.

"The Vestiges Of Kaduna Mafia Must Not Kill Aisha Buhari"

This very interesting article by Bamidele Ademola-Olateju about First Lady Aisha Buhari and the drama going on underneath is currently trending. Recall that Mrs Buhari had, in an interview with BBC Hausa said that people who did not share the vision of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) were now appointed to top posts because of the influence a "few people" wield.
